ROCKSTAR BRINGS YOU UNMATCHED GARAGE DOOR INSTALLATION COST AND MORE

Every responsible homeowner should consider the annual maintenance program for their garage door. For instance, the spring mechanism has to be tuned up every year by a garage door maintenance professional.  Our expert repairmen can identify any loose connections or timeworn parts that can cause malfunctions. It is risky to try and fix these on your own since you don’t have the required skills and tools.

More importantly, an unreliable garage door is a threat to your safety. Burglars are excellent at spotting a faulty garage door as an easy point of access to your house, not to mention how unstable a garage door can be if its moving parts are loose.

Here are three basic garage door maintenance tips you can do yourself before you consider hiring a professional service:

1. Lubricating a noisy door – Use a silicone or lithium spray to lubricate garage door parts, such as the hinges, stems, chain rail, metal rollers of the ball bearings, the lock, nubs, and the arm bars. Avoid using lubricants like WD 40 because it could induce the collection of dust and debris that may harden and prevent the proper functioning of the garage door.
2. Clean the door – Use a damp cloth to wipe the inner portion of the track and wipe it off with a dry cloth. A lubricant may be used to get rid of any sticky residue on the door track.
3. Realign the sensors – Sometimes, the sensor could malfunction because it was knocked out of place or something is blocking it. Check to ensure that it is in the proper position and nothing is on its way. If you still cannot figure out the problem, that is when you should call a garage door repair specialist in Mission Hills, California.
