Purpose of the Job:

The Residential Garage Door Technician is the primary sales and service professional for residential garage doors, openers, and related parts. This role involves offering various recommendations for repair and replacements, selling services or replacement options, and delivering exceptional customer service daily. The technician mainly services existing garage doors and opener systems. All work instructions are sourced from our call center or Customer Experience Specialist (CXS). Any challenges or queries are directed to the Branch Manager for resolution. The Technician is a pivotal customer service figure and is expected to uphold a neat and professional appearance while ensuring customers are treated with respect and kindness.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Execute garage door repairs upon request.
  • Furnish estimates for residential repair and remodeling bids.
  • Attend and contribute to all mandated safety meetings and training.
  • Master the fundamentals of track adjustments, alignments, back hangs, operator arms, photo eye settings, and other related repairs.
  • Stay updated on door and operator maintenance skills and acquaint with new products when relevant.
  • Maintain comprehensive product knowledge.
  • Guarantee the completion of all scheduled tasks to customer satisfaction and address any arising concerns.
  • Ensure the Work Order/Invoice is accurate and complete before leaving the job site.
  • Secure payment for the services provided upon job completion.
  • Promote Rockstar Garage Door Services’ offerings at every opportunity.
  • Prep the truck every morning, ensuring it’s fueled, maintained, and stocked daily with the necessary service materials.
  • Assist in offloading trucks when necessary.
  • Track working hours through our payroll software for precise record-keeping.
  • Undertake additional tasks as assigned by the Branch Manager.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED, bolstered by garage door related experience, ideally in sales, installations, and repairs.
  • Demonstrated sales expertise with a record of closing deals with customers, preferably in the garage door sector.
  • A valid driver’s license.
  • Clear a standard drug test.
  • Presentable appearance.
  • Comprehensive work history is essential in your application.
  • Participation in a standard drug and alcohol screening may be necessary.
